Optimism Tax

From time to time it seems your good intentions are taken for granted. Sometimes you are exploited and taken advantage of resulting in a loss of monies and/or personal things. You are then left with the choice: lose your faith and trust in mankind and express a general distrust toward everyone, or accept the loss as a tax to maintain your optimism and belief that man is overall good. The former may save you some change in your wallet, but the latter allows you to live a less-stressful and fulfilling life.

I choose to pay the tax now and then.
