Of Presidents

A lot of readers have been asking me why I don’t post my positions on the upcoming election. Actually, no one has asked, but I feel compelled to share.

Ultimately, I don’t share my viewpoints on politics because frankly I don’t think they matter. Now after reading that you may be nodding your head in agreement, but hold on. I also don’t think your viewpoints matter. We each only get a single vote, and most of our minds are made up very early in the process even before the VeeP-stakes. So whether Obama picks a frog to be his running-mate or McCain picks inmate #47392, its all inconsequential to most of us.

The candidates and pundits can come up with hundreds of reasons on why the other candidate is a lunatic and will destroy America, but somehow the people who’ve already made up their mind always have a rebuttal.

“That man played golf with SATAN on Thursday!!” says mud-slinger.
“You are mistaken and the words you speak aren’t even credible because you don’t even have a library card!” says staunch supporter.
“HAHA! That anti-Amercian doesn’t even have a library card!” say all the mud-slingers in unison.

And so it goes… America has survived this long with crazy Republicans and Democrats, it’ll likely survive another 4 to 8 years. So relax, the best you can do is vote for the one whom you think will mess up the least.
